Watches and Wonders Geneva 2027: Airport, Palexpo and Hotel Travel Guide

By Swiss Transfer Service

Watches and Wonders Geneva 2027 takes place over a full week, at Palexpo beside Geneva Airport and at venues across the city centre. For most visitors, the fair itself is straightforward to plan. The practical questions take more thought: which airport to fly into, which part of the region to stay in, and how to move between the exhibition halls, the hotel and evening appointments without spending more of the day in transit than necessary.

This guide looks at those questions from a transport point of view. It covers public transport, taxis and private chauffeurs side by side, and it says plainly where the train or bus is the better choice. If you already know you would like to be met on arrival, our Geneva Airport transfer page explains how pickups work.

This is an independent travel guide. Swiss Transfer Service has no connection with the organisers of Watches and Wonders Geneva. For tickets, accreditation, opening hours and the programme, the event’s own website is the reference.

Watches and Wonders Geneva 2027 at a glance

According to the organisers’ announcement of 23 June 2026:

  • Dates: Monday 5 April to Sunday 11 April 2027.
  • Professional days: the Salon at Palexpo opens on Monday for professional visitors, and the professional days run until the public weekend begins.
  • Public days: a three-day public weekend, Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April 2027.
  • Main venue: Palexpo, next to Geneva Airport.
  • In The City: a programme open to everyone, running across the city centre throughout the week. The organisers describe it as including a Watchmaking Village, brand activations in boutiques, encounters with artisans, and cultural and musical events. Venue details for 2027 had not been published when this guide was written.

Opening hours, ticketing for the public days and access conditions for the professional days are published by the organisers. This guide was written in October 2026, so check the official site again before you finalise your plans.

Who this guide is for

The week brings together visitors with very different schedules: retailers and buyers with full appointment diaries, journalists and content teams carrying equipment, brand staff working on a stand or hosting clients, collectors visiting on the public weekend, and executive assistants arranging travel for others. The sections below reflect those differences.

Arriving at Geneva Airport during fair week

Palexpo sits right next to Geneva Airport: according to Palexpo, the venue is a ten-minute walk from the airport’s railway station. For many visitors, that means the airport is effectively the gateway to the venue, and some will want to go from the arrivals hall to a first meeting within the hour.

If that is your plan, think about luggage before you think about transport. Walking to Palexpo with a carry-on is easy; walking there with a suitcase, a sample case and a coat is less so. Two approaches tend to work:

  • Hotel first. Go to your hotel, leave your bags and return to Palexpo with only what you need for the day.
  • Straight to the fair, with the car booked by the hour. Your driver meets you, takes you to Palexpo and keeps your luggage in the vehicle until you are ready to go to the hotel. This is often the simpler choice for a short trip with a tight schedule.

When you book a pickup with us, our driver meets you in the arrivals area (Meet & Greet); a name sign is available on request. We follow your flight live, and if it is delayed, the pickup time is adjusted at no extra charge. Please give us your flight number rather than only the scheduled landing time, so the tracking is accurate.

If you prefer public transport, Geneva Airport’s own information is clear: trains reach the city centre in about seven minutes with no change, and a Unireso zone 10 ticket can be bought from the machine in the baggage reclaim area.

Getting between Palexpo, hotels and the city centre

During the week you will usually make three kinds of journeys: hotel to Palexpo in the morning, Palexpo to the city in the evening, and occasional trips to In The City venues or appointments in between. Each option has its place.

Public transport. Geneva’s network is a genuine strength. Trains link the airport station with Geneva-Cornavin, and Palexpo’s access page lists several bus lines that stop at the venue. If you stay in approved accommodation in Geneva, you are entitled to the free Geneva Transport Card, which covers buses, trains and the yellow lake boats within the canton (Unireso zone 10, including the airport) for the whole of your stay. For one person with light luggage and a central hotel, this is hard to beat.

Taxis. Useful for single journeys, particularly late in the evening. At times when many visitors leave the same venue together, you may need to wait.

Private chauffeur. A pre-booked car with a fixed CHF quote and no hidden costs, either for single transfers or by the hour. It is most useful when the day has several stops, when you are hosting guests, or when you are carrying equipment you would rather not take on a bus.

Driving yourself. Palexpo’s car park P12 is open 24 hours, but spaces cannot be reserved. Palexpo also mentions drop-off zones at its main entrances on request. Arrangements during the fair may differ, so we confirm the exact drop-off and pickup point with you closer to the date.

Choosing a hotel area for fair week

Where you stay shapes every other transport decision. The table below compares the main options without journey times, because those depend heavily on the hour and the day.

Area Works well for Keep in mind
City centre and lakefront Evening dinners, In The City, walking between appointments Daily journeys out to Palexpo; train or car both work
Airport and Palexpo area Professional visitors who spend most of each day at the fair Evenings in town mean a journey back in
Nyon and the lake towards Lausanne Quieter stays, or visitors combining the fair with business in the Lake Geneva region Outside the canton of Geneva, so the free Geneva Transport Card does not apply; plan return journeys after late events
Lausanne Visitors already based there or with appointments in Vaud Longer daily journeys; see our guide to Geneva Airport to Lausanne transport options

If your dates are fixed, book accommodation first and arrange transport once the hotel is confirmed. A pickup address that changes at the last minute often means a carefully built schedule has to be redone.

Trade days vs public days: different transport needs

Professional (trade) days, Monday to Thursday. These are usually the longest days of the week. Appointments run to a timetable, there may be a client lunch away from the fair, and evenings often end with a dinner in town. A car booked by the hour fits this rhythm: the same driver waits nearby and is ready when you leave, and a meeting that runs late is absorbed within the hours you have booked. Our hourly chauffeur service offers packages from 2 hours / 40 km up to 10 hours / 200 km, and the online calculator shows the price before you book. If a single day does not fit one package, tell us your plan and we will suggest which combination of transfers and hourly packages suits it.

Public weekend (Friday to Sunday). Visits tend to be shorter and more flexible. Many people combine a few hours at Palexpo with In The City events. One transfer from the airport, public transport during the day and perhaps a car for a late return is often enough. There is no need to book a full day if half of it will be spent on foot in the city centre.

Planning for brand teams and small delegations

Teams travelling for the fair face a different set of problems from individual visitors. People arrive on different flights, sometimes at different airports. Some need to be at Palexpo early to prepare the stand, while others arrive later for meetings. Guests may need collecting from hotels across the city.

Swiss Transfer Service is led by a chauffeur who has driven business travellers in Switzerland for many years, including during WEF in Davos. The points below reflect what that kind of week requires.

What we can realistically do for a team of this kind:

  • Plan around staggered arrivals, with each flight tracked and each pickup confirmed separately.
  • Arrange more than one vehicle when the group or the schedule requires it, confirmed at the time of booking.
  • Work with one coordinator, typically an executive assistant or team manager, by phone or WhatsApp, so that changes go through a single contact.
  • Match the vehicle to the luggage. Tell us about sample cases, display material or camera equipment when you book, and we will suggest the right class: Business Class, VIP Class or V-Class (see our cars).

One point of scope: our service is passenger transport. High-value stock usually travels under specialised logistics arrangements, so please plan that separately and tell us only about the luggage travelling with your team.

For a broader view of business travel planning in Switzerland, see our guide to corporate transfers. Teams that come to Switzerland several times a year may find our Executive Chauffeur Subscription simpler than booking each trip separately.

Beyond Geneva: Zurich and other airport options

Geneva Airport is the obvious choice, but not the only one. If your best flight connection lands in Zurich, a road transfer to Geneva is possible; see our Zurich to Geneva transfer route. The train is a good alternative if you travel light.

If you are also planning a visit to Geneva Watch Days, the late-summer event centred on brand showrooms in the city, we cover it in a separate guide.

Fair week checklist

Before you travel, have the following ready:

  • Your days at the fair: professional days, public weekend, or both
  • Access confirmation or tickets from the organisers
  • Flight numbers for every person in your group
  • Hotel name and address, plus any second pickup address
  • Fixed appointments and evening commitments, with addresses
  • Luggage per person, including sample cases or equipment
  • Whether you need a car for single transfers or by the hour
  • One contact phone number with WhatsApp for the trip
  • Your return flight and how much time you want before departure

Arrange your transport for fair week

Tell us your arrival flights, hotel, fair days and number of people, and we will suggest point-to-point transfers or an hourly arrangement. Prices are fixed in CHF with no hidden costs and are shown in our online price calculator. We are available 24/7.
